Canon Futures
Canon FUTURES is a unique incubation program launched by Canon Canada in 2021, designed to equip emerging creators and storytellers with the opportunity to expand their knowledge of the business, develop their craft, and create community.
The hybrid program is delivered through monthly exclusive virtual workshops, assignments, an in-person immersive retreat, and industry mentorships.
Chara was one of the 20 creators chosen to join the first ever FUTURES class, selected from hundreds of applicants across Canada by the panel of industry experts, in collaboration with the Canon Canada team.

Level Up Sales Campaign
Level Up is one of Canon Canada’s most important and highly anticipated bi-annual sales events. Canon Canada asked us each to create a compelling content piece to help tell the story of what it means Level Up while showcasing the capabilities of the Canon EOS R.
Perspectives Content Series
During the program, Canon Cananda launched an ongoing series “Perspectives”, which consisted their ambassadors and and FUTURES mentees sharing of key takeaways from what they’ve learned so far on their journey. Chara’s content piece captured three key takeaways from Kishan’s workshop: Diversifying Your Skills.
Socality x Canon Canada Banff Retreat
To kick-off the program, Canon Canada and Socality flew us out to Banff, Alberta for a three-day creative retreat with mentorship from Canon Ambassadors, and a chance to exercise creative muscles by shooting mock creative briefs from Eddie Bauer and Canon Canada.
Graduation
Upon the program conclusion for Y1, Canon Canada thoughtfully put together a graduation celebration for the FUTURES class, featuring a custom yearbook for each creator, as well as a private gallery exhibiting the highlights of our photography, printed in large format. It was an emotional, tear-jerking surprise that brought us to tears of joy.
